Why North Texas roofs wear out faster
Roofs across the DFW Metroplex live a hard life. Spring brings hail that can bruise or fracture shingles in minutes. Summer brings weeks of triple-digit heat that bakes the oils out of asphalt and makes it brittle. Straight-line winds lift tabs and break the seal strips that keep water out. Then a Blue Norther can swing temperatures forty degrees in an afternoon, and all that expansion and contraction loosens fasteners and flashing.
That's why a roof in Forney, Rockwall or Mesquite rarely reaches the lifespan printed on the shingle wrapper. When the damage adds up — granule loss, cracked or missing shingles, soft decking, recurring leaks or a roof that simply can't be repaired anymore — replacement is the smart, protective move. Not if, but when.
A complete system, not just new shingles
When we replace your roof, we install the full manufacturer roofing system. That matters for two reasons: the components are designed to work together to shed water and ventilate your attic, and installing the complete system is what qualifies your roof for the full manufacturer system warranty on top of our own 15-year workmanship warranty.
- Tear-off down to the deck and inspection of every sheet of decking — damaged wood is replaced, not covered up
- Synthetic underlayment and ice-and-water protection in valleys and around penetrations
- New drip edge, starter strip, pipe boots and flashing
- Matched hip and ridge caps and balanced intake and exhaust ventilation to fight Texas attic heat
- Magnetic sweep of your yard and driveway, plus full cleanup before we leave
Choosing the right material for your home
Most of our replacements in DFW use Class 3 or Class 4 impact-resistant architectural shingles. Class 4 shingles carry the highest impact rating available, and many Texas insurers offer premium discounts for homes with a Class 4 roof — ask your agent what you may qualify for. For homeowners who want maximum longevity, we also install standing seam metal, R-panel metal, stone-coated steel, clay tile, concrete tile and Eco Shield recycled shingles. I'll walk you through cost, lifespan, HOA rules and storm performance so you can decide with confidence. See our roofing materials guide for a side-by-side look.
Insurance-funded or cash, built right either way
Many roof replacements in North Texas are paid for, at least in part, by a homeowner's insurance policy after hail or wind damage. We document damage with photos, measurements and a written Roof Protection Report you can share with your insurer, and we can meet your adjuster on-site to point out what we found. Your insurance company determines coverage; we build to the scope they approve. If your replacement isn't storm-related, we'll give you a straightforward cash price. Flexible financing options, including for your insurance deductible.
